One of 50 numbered copies (+ 5 "de luxe") of this rare stamped artist's book, signed by the artist on the colophon leaf. Gaglione (b. 1943) created a series of stamped poems with rubber stamps using blue ink and red ink type. This work was published by the collector and scholar Guy Schraenen (1941-2018). The "de luxe" copies came with an original typewriter poem. A fine copy. Ours is no. 23 and signed by Gaglione in pencil. WorldCat locates just two examples in North America.

Rare program for a performance by Anna Banana (b. 1940) and Bill Gaglione (b. 1943) at Other Books and So's second location (259 Herengracht). Carrión's bookshop-cum-gallery closed several months later, and this was one of the final performances held there. It was edited and designed by György Galántai (b. 1941) of the Artpool Art Research Center, a haven for Eastern European avant-garde movements established in 1979 in Budapest. Each artist contributed a pagework, there are a total of 52 contributions (two consist of two sheets), resulting in an astonishing range of creations. Galgemair (1564-1619), who had been a student of both Apian and Mästlin at Tübingen, wrote a series of books on scientific instruments. The first part of this book describes the precursor to the sector and proportional compass that is today known as the reduction compass; a full-page woodcut of the instrument appears on A2r. First edition in French of the great economist's Della Perfetta conservazione del Grano. Discorso (Naples: 1754). Like the first edition, ours was published under the name of Bartolommeo Intieri (1676-1757), economist, engineer, and mathematician, who had furnished his friend Galiani with the ideas on methods to prevent grain from being contaminated by insects. Intieri proposed that grain be dried in a heated kiln. This process would dissipate bad odors, eliminate humidity, kill most insects, and check the disposition of the grain to germinate and ferment while in storage or in transit. Although Galiani wrote the text, he had Intieri's name placed on the title-page to properly honor the aged and nearly blind scientist for his invention of the kiln stove in 1728. This is a record of paintings and calligraphy by Gao Shiqi 高士奇 (1645-1703), who completed it in the summer of 1693 in the main hall (caotang 草堂 or Herb Hall), of his refurbished old mansion in Pinghu, Zhejiang. Gao, a Zhejiang man of relatively humble origins, had literary talents that earned him a job in the civil bureaucracy in Beijing, where he came to the attention of important figures and subsequently of the Kangxi emperor himself. For several years, Gao was part of the emperor's literary entourage, accompanying him on his travels outside the Great Wall, from which he left several valuable accounts. First edition of Gauss's first book for which he received his doctorate degree; in this rare work Gauss gave the first rigorous proof of the fundamental theorem of algebra. This theorem, which states that every algebraic equation in one unknown has a root, was expressed by Albert Girard, Descartes, Newton, and Maclaurin. Attempts at a proof were made by d'Alembert, Euler, and Lagrange, but Gauss was the first to furnish a rigorous demonstration. This is Gauss's first great work and marks the beginning of an extraordinary ten years which saw the publication of his Disquisitiones Arithmeticae (1801) and his calculation of the orbit of the newly discovered planet Ceres.
