Contemporary blind-stamped calf (neatly rebacked, inner hinges repaired), red morocco and gilt spine label. A fine copy from the library of Robert Clavering, University College, Oxford, 1700, with his signature and a manuscript note in Latin on flyleaf concerning the printing history of this book.

Snell was the co-recipient of the 1980 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work on the genetics of the mouse immune system which led to a better understanding of cancer cell behavior in humans.
