Numerous small surface scratches to photograph, one deep closed tear measuring 3" long to bottom margin corner, a few small abrasions; border of photograph unevenly trimmed, light soiling to mount. Photograph of John Taylor (third President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) by John Hafen, with his mark, dated 1888. Hafen was one of the muralists of the Salt Lake Temple. Before becoming a painter, he apprenticed under noted photographer Charles Savage.
