Not quite square, pushed at the spine tips but a nice, fresh copy in the black boards with silver titles at the backstrip. Edges clean and white, free from owner names etc. Near Fine. The dustjacket has the publisher's expansive price-clip with their new printed price of £8.25 net at the front flap. Wrinkle to the top edge front panel ending in small split to the top corner. Tanning to the rear panel. VG, presents well.

Appears to be a well-read copy with crease to the upper cover and first couple of pages thereafter. Reading creases to the spine. Corners slightly turned at the front. No owner markings or annotations, however and reasonably square and tight. An uncommon proof and SIGNED at the title page by the author(for the seller in person).

London: Hutchinson, 1992. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. The author's first novel. Original black cloth with silver gilt titles to the backstrip. Pushed a little at the spine tips, the corners are sharp, the book is square and tight, the text-block remarkably fresh. Free from previous owner names etc, pretty much a Fine copy. The dustjacket is unclipped with no tears or nicks to the edges. It is, however, oddly creased and just a little bit stretched - the front flap may have been used as a book mark by a previous owner. Also quite creased at the crown. Neverthless, it looks great and is spotlessly clean - a VG jacket. Now becoming scarce in the first edition.

A very attractive copy - slightly creased at the spine tips, the bottom corners are slightly swollen but straight, tight, unblemished covers and internally fresh with no owner markings etc. The dustjacket has been price-clipped (by the publisher - a new price sticker has been fixed to the flap although it has been 75% removed by a previous owner) but is otherwise Fine. Superb colour illustrations by Errol Le Cain

The jacket is also in nice shape with just minor creasing to top edge of rear panel, otherwise about Fine.
