An adventure novel set at the turn of the twentieth century, with much of its material inspired by Egyptian mythology. This publication made H. Rider Haggard and his character Ayesha household names. A small lean and a bit of rubbing to the bottom edges of the boards, a faint name stamp on the front pastedown.

The musical was a controversial one, due to its on-stage nudity, depiction of drug use and of other facets of hippie culture. Minor foxing to the front wrapper.

He was a conscientious objector during WWII, and is the father of Annie Finch, the famous feminist poet and author. A biography of perhaps the most influential modern philosopher, written by a noted Descartes scholar, Elizabeth Haldane. Haldane would also go on to release compendiums of Descartes written works. A Very Good book with foxing to the textblock and a chip to the corner of each final leaf.
