Description:
London: Collins, 1962. Bound in red paper-covered boards, a little bumped top and bottom of spine. Dust jacket has a short split bottom of front flap, a 2" one top of rear flap, a large chip (approx. 3/4" by 1/2") top of spine panel, along with a 1" tear at bottom of chip and some associated wrinkles. Even with these faults the jacket is bright and the front panel displays well. Originally published in the UK in 1949, a second impression followed in 1957, and this is the third. Issued as a Crown Library edition for juveniles. There is no published price on either the front and rear flaps, perhaps indicating an export copy. The rear flap of the dust jacket cites 13 other stories in the Crown Library, starting with "The Boy and the Donkey", and ending with "Sparks Fly".. First UK Edition, Third Impression. Hard Cover in Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Fair. Illus. by John Worsley.
