Boyd, Jr., Petroleum Industry War Council Chairman. Very good in red cloth with spine a little sunned. Chapter heading sketches by Clare B. Metzger, includes appendices, one of which is an Oil Industry glossary; 174 pages. Ickes was Petroleum Administrator in WWII, and Oveta Hobby served as the first Director of the Women's Army Corps, and the first Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare when it was founded in the 1950's. Her husband, former Governor of Texas William P. Hobby, is who Hobby Airport in Houston is named for.

Front panel of jacket and frontispiece are photographs by Vandamm of the original cast members from the Broadway opening of the play.

Paris: Baudry's European Library, 1835. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. First edition thus, following the British edition but preceding the US edition. Text is in English. Very good in original green cloth with elaborate gilt decoration on front board with "Lycee Imperial Louis Le Grand" in gilt lettering. The backstrip has been replaced with a dark green leather spine with four raised bands and gilt lettering and decorations. Interior pages have a vertical water line about 1/2" in from the foredge of the page block, and moderate foxing throughout. The page block is a little stiff, but the paper is still fairly supple and lays flat. About 6 3/4" high and 4 1/2" wide, with 270 pages. An unusual copy of this classic Irving title of his travels across the US.
