There are 264 full color, full page plant portraits, and two tipped in foldout color plates. There is a separate Commentary volume, bound in blue cloth, which includes 10 full page illustrations. This printing of the Commentary is the first time it has been translated from the original Latin into English. There are also three separately cased full-sized color plates suitable for framing.
