1984.. Image size 125 x 165 mm, 4¾ x 6½ inches, depicting the head of an elephant holding a little boy in the end of its trunk, signed and dated 1984 at bottom right. This image appears as a half page illustration in the above story in the volume 'Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and Other Animal Stories' by Rudyard Kipling, page 124 (published Macmillan 1984). Mounted and protected under clear removable plastic film, Keeping's printed label on reverse with caption in his hand: "The brown baby was crowing". Image clean and bright. Offered with 2 brief handwritten letters to the recipient of the drawing who had asked Keeping to donate a signed book for a charity auction. Also included is a near Fine copy of the first edition of the book in near Fine DUSTWRAPPER. Price includes VAT. NB. photo taken through cellophane shows a shiny patch on the top right.
