Description:
SIGNED by Helen Keller, a framed one-page typed lyrical letter describing her radiant joy riding in an automobile for the first time. This most unusual letter introduces us to the lighter side of Helen Keller, describing an adventure with the confident, benevolent, joyous self-flaunting of a child. "Thanks to your wonderful machine, which brought me home so swiftly on a star-lit night that I felt like an enchanted princess riding on the back of one of the winged horses of Fairyland. I love the fresh, cool night air on my face and the teasing wind in my hair. The peace and silence of the summer night was like a benediction upon our spirits." She concludes this unique letter with a reference to Annie Sullivan, ("Mrs. Macy") with whom Keller lived from 1904-1917. Slight dampstain at lower right margin, else fine. Frame has soiling. Item measures 9.5" x 7.75" Rare, joyous Helen Keller, the "enchanted princess"! Book #C2a001. $1500. We specialize in Rare Ayn Rand, history, and science..

Description:
SIGNED First Edition in perfect condition. In A Life of One's Own, David Kelley subjects the institutions of the contemporary welfare state to sustained, incisive criticism. Dr. Kelley presents empirical evidence of the welfare state s effects on behavior, historical research on the origins of the welfare state (and on what it displaced), and philosophical clarification of such core ideas as freedom and rights. After careful examination of the various arguments in support of welfare rights, Kelley concludes that the concept of welfare rights is invalid. New, unread, still tight copy, signed without personalization by Kelly on the colophon. Book #Pv5b211. $75. We specialize in Rare Ayn Rand, history, and science.
