Five mail boxes are pencilled in at the end of the road. 10.5" x 8.5" Comanche County was created in 1867. The first settlers arrived around 1873; cattlemen used the range; and all claims were taken up by 1885. Coldwater was designated the county seat in 1885, and the Coldwater Talisman newspaper published from 1905 to 1936.

Here, he speaks to petitions filed by citizens of several states and the Republic of Texas, "regarding the expediency of allowing the benefit of drawback on cotton imported inland from the Republic of Texas, and on foreign goods exported inland to Texas and Mexico...." Busey (1845-1928) was a professional photographer with a studio in York, PA, followed by one in Baltimore, travels abroad, and settling in 1900 with a gallery in New York City.].
