Bound in maroon cloth over boards with mauve topstain.. With this book, Rose Wilder Lane helped reignite a passion for classical liberal ideas in America. She is considered one of the "Founding Mothers" of Libertarianism, along with Ayn Rand and Isabel Paterson, each of whom published significant books in 1943. <br /> <br /> Lane was the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the Little House on the Prairie series of children's books.

Bound in green cloth over boards with spine titled in dark blue, dark blue topstain. Shallow bumps to lower fore corners of boards and spine ends. Some minor browning to textblock edges./Jacket has a 1/2" chip at top edge of lower joint fold, a 1/4" chip at top edge of upper joint fold, a few closed edge tears with some associated wrinkles, along with some light rubs and scuffs. Presents well.. A scarce novel of the struggles and successes of immigrants in the United States.

A very nice first edition of one of the most important books in American literature. Hemingway believed that "American writing comes from that. There was nothing before. There has been nothing as good since." This copy has the important issue points at pages (13), 57, and 143. A very handsome copy.

This scarce pictorial map is a guide to all sites of Beatles interest in their native city of Liverpool. It is featured in the book "A History of the 20th Century in 100 Maps," by Tim Bryars and Tom Harper, who call it "the first 'official' Beatles souvenir item specifically produced for Liverpool." <br /> <br /> The map was commissioned by Liverpool's Public Relations Office as part of a promotional souvenir pack that launched Liverpool's Beatles tourism industry in 1974, albeit 4 years after the band had broken up. Here they are locked in 1968, in the style of their animated film ,"Yellow Submarine." The map was designed by the commercial art studio McCaffrey and Sharp of Liverpool. <br /> <br /> Ref. James Judson Lord's poem, read at the dedication of Abraham Lincoln's tomb and memorial in 1874. Printed on rectos only. Illustrated with sketches by W. Jerome Willoughby. MONAGHAN #1538. Bound in black cloth over boards with gilt-stamped title on upper board. Top fore corners bumped, moderate extremity rubs. Front free endpaper has a cleanly repaired tear at lower fore corner. Prior owner name penned neatly along top edge of front pastedown.

These are volume VII and VIII, "Memoirs of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University. " Superbly illustrated large format volumes in tan printed paper covers. Covers show some extremity wear consisting of short tears, shallow wrinkles, and a few small chips. Part II has a 1" split at top of upper joint which has been repaired with tissue. Part I has a 1/2" split at bottom of lower joint. Very good overall.
