Cover bright with titles in black on orange background. Very minor shelfwear with some sun darkening to spine. Binding very sound. Color illustrated endpapers, 94 unpaginated pages with numerous pages color illustrated. Interior clean and bright. IN ORIGINAL PUBLISHER'S BOX which duplicates front cover illustration of tree-bound black crow dropping a piece of cheese from its perch on a branch, to salivating, tongue-lolling fox below, on its hind legs paws on trunk of tree, with pointing red-headed elf on other sideof tree. Box shows some closed tears and nicks, and a 1 1/2" inch section where blue cardboard has been rubbed away. Box very sturdy still! Retelling of La Fontaine's classic tales.
