Very minor rubbing to extremities. Interior pages very clean. One must "teach the bowel to move at a definite time..." "An authoritative study of bowel conditions and action written for the medical profession at the request of the Deshell Laboratories, Inc." (2). Habit Time encourages the view that patients must make bowel movements at the same time every day to avoid constipation, thus "habit time". The study discusses fecal consistency, medication, mode of life, physiology of the bowel, among other factors. Deshell Laboratories produced and sold Petrolagar, a medication used to induce bowel movements at regular intervals (See advert in The Modern Hospital, Jan 1926 for reference).

Color illustrated endpapers, 94 unpaginated pages with numerous pages color illustrated. Interior clean and bright. IN ORIGINAL PUBLISHER'S BOX which duplicates front cover illustration of tree-bound black crow dropping a piece of cheese from its perch on a branch, to salivating, tongue-lolling fox below, on its hind legs paws on trunk of tree, with pointing red-headed elf on other sideof tree. Box shows some closed tears and nicks, and a 1 1/2" inch section where blue cardboard has been rubbed away. Box very sturdy still! Retelling of La Fontaine's classic tales.
