Oversize 4to softcover. 235 pp, including six chapters, a chronology, checklist of the exhibition with thumbnail illustrations etc. Inscribed and signed on the red ffe "For Alan" and dated 8/26/86, likely to someone associated with the museum, with a Seattle Museum business card of Helen Abbott, Public Relations Manager, laid in.  An attractive signed example of this stunning catalog for the career retrospective Seattle Art Museum exhibition of the important American artist who taught at the University of Washington from 1971 to 1986. Dramatic still from the 1940s Ice Follies revue, with Harris Legg jumping over a woman, probably his later wife Phyllis, who is held up in the air by four more four more female skaters. Manuscript inscription in capital print letters to foot in ink in an unknown hand, "Harris Legg / Ice follies /1940." Oblong format, 7.5 x 9.25 inches (19 x 23.5 cm). Slightly scratched, else fine.Harris Legg, born in New England but raised in Ontario, was with the Ice Follies from their inauguration in 1936. Phyllis, née Rebholz, from Minnesota, joined a few years later. They married in 1941 and became known for their acts using stilt skates (not depicted here).

Remnants of earlier mounting  on verso obscure most of the address, written in Lehar's hand (possibly "Herrn Konzertmeister / [name illegible]... Signed invitation by the American pianist to the summer Music Festival at the South Vermont Arts Center, May 1979, probably sent to Italian-American painter Luigi Lucioni.  1 p.  Photocopied, with autograph signature, some decorative notation in red marker and mounted black-and-white photograph of the South Vermont Arts Center.  11 x 8.5 inches (28 x 21.6 cm).  Lower edge creased, else in fine condition.Together with two printed, undated cards.  The first "Seasons Greetings" depicts List, his wife (violinist Carroll Glenn) and their two daughters gathered at a piano; the second, "Merry Christmas / Happy New Year" depicts the two daughters only.During his military service in World War II, List established a relationship with political leaders.  He performed for Harry S. Truman, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin at the Potsdam Conference in 1945 and later had a series of appearances at the White House until 1980.
