Nicks and tears to the dustjacket which is not clipped.

Edinburgh: Chambers/ Alexander Maclehose & Co, 1935. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/Good. First Edition. A fascinating copy of this well-regarded history of the Stewarts. The book appears to have originally been published by Alexander MACLEHOSE & co, a branch of the legendary Glasgow bookselling/publishing/printing dynasty and it is their imprint which appears at the title page. However, at the half-title there is a tipped-in label stating, "This book is now published by W.R. Chambers and the blue cloth clovers bear the Chambers name at the foot of the backstrip. This suggests that the original block has been rebound in the Chambers covers. Even more interestingly, the impressive Stephen Bone dustjacket has been printed upon the verso of an existing Maclehose dustjacket for a cheap edition of the author's earlier title, Robert Bruce King of Scots (also by Stephen Bone). A nice , tight, square copy with some off-setting to the pastedowns from the dustjacket flaps. Free from owner names etc. Not quite fresh but Near Fine, certainly. The jacket is not price-clipped and has just minor rubs to the corners, Near Fine.

Helsinki: American International Pictures, 1970. No Binding. Fine. A Finnish "tour" movie poster for the biker movie Hell's Angels 69, starring Tom Stern. The movie did not reach Northern Europe until 1970 and was therefore retitled "Hell's Angels 70". The film opened in Finland in July 1970 and had a limited release which dates this poster to late 1970. You are looking at a "tour" poster printed for distribution to the small regional cinemas and other venues (e.g. clubs, village halls etc) outside of the main cities following the initial theatrical run. Finnish tour posters are re-sized printings of the normal A2 lobby poster, usually slightly narrower and longer with printed margins at top or bottom (sometimes both) with spacing for information about location, times, ticket prices etc. They were intended for circulation around the area where a screening was due to take place and were therefore posted at bus stops and on telegraph poles as well in shop… Read More
