[Dubuque]: [H. B. Glover Company], 1900. Small activity book for children, with line drawings from famous tales alternating with thin paper, designed for tracing the drawings, which has been done on all pages. Chromolithograph of Little Red Riding Hood (& the wolf!) on the front cover, ads for Glover's coveralls and "Brighton" shirts. No publisher, place, or date listed, but the H. B. Glover company manufactured overalls and Brighton shirts in Dubuque beginning in 1876. Based on typography, likely dates from 1895-1900. Small stapled paperback, light wear, minor creasing, scuff to upper front cover, no serious loss to image. 8 printed pages, 10 blank but penciled-on pages.. Staple Bound Pamphlet. Good. Nager, a notable Swiss otorhinolaryngologist specializing in hearing loss, here offers a gloomy and patronizing prospect for the Deaf, whom he argues are profoundly isolated, but (of course) with the potential for nobility. Undated; the text of a lecture given to the club on Jan. 28, 1937; the same lecture (one assumes in Swiss or German) was given years earlier noting the creation of the chair of Otolaryngology at the University of Zürich. Inscription on first page says, "For Henry P. Wagener from the Research Study Club" - Wagener was a medical ophthalmologist at the Mayo Clinic. Pamphlet, as pictured; cover is a bit worn around the edges; with some rubbing, light creasing, foxing; ink note. INSCRIBED by Nash "For Gene Olson from his old pupil [signature] Feb 28 1955" with a hand-written postcard from Nash discussing a possible meeting with Olson's class in Janesville, which Nash was visiting briefly.
