Part one deals with the usual health challenges of the school age child. Part two discusses the needs and aspects of a school-based health program. First published in 1959, some health aspects of modern America are not included, in some cases because they did not exist yet. No discussion of HIV and AIDS, because it wasn't identified until a few years after this publication. No discussion of sex education or sexual abuse. Nothing on vaccinations. But, one of the first sections deals with nutrition, including a discussion of the obese child (which they call "The Fat Child"). No Political Correctness in those days.
