Hollywood, California: Unpublished, 1949. Card signed by Clarence Nash, who was the "voice" of Donald Duck for almost 50 years. The card is inscribed by Nash: "Best wishes to Lee. Donald Donald Duck & Clarence Nash." Provenance: from the collection of Lee Saegesser (1939-present), Chief Archivist from 1967 until 1997 in the Washington, DC NASA Headquarters History Office. The autograph is from the 1940s and is guaranteed to be authentic. Accompanying the autograph is an original 1941 press photograph by NBC Photo Service. The photo pictures Nash with Donald Duck and Gerard Darrow, who was the first and most popular young genius who appeared a number of times as a contestant on the NBC radio program, "Quiz Kids." Detroit, Michigan: Detroit Publishing Company, 1899. 6 3/4 inches by 9 inches. Famed western American photographer William Henry Jackson spent a great deal of time taking pictures of Native Americans. Late in his career, he formed a relationship with the Detroit Publishing Company and turned over to them thousands of his negatives as well as those of other Western photographers.. Some of those negatives were printed as photochroms, which are color lithographs produced from black and white photographs. The negative from which this photochrom was produced has been attributed to Denver photographer Charles A. Nast by both the National Gallery and the Amon Carter Museum. This photochrom of a Ute family is beautifully colored and is a respectful portrayal of the Native American culture. It is in excellent condition. On the copyright page, the publisher explains the rationale for including the page of stick-on decals produced by the Meyercord Company. Almost all copies of this book now on the market are missing the decal page. Our copy was bound with two pages of decals, only one of which has been roughly excised; so a full set of 6 decals remains in the book. The book is clean, bright, and tight.
