First printing of this true crime book detailing the events surrounding the murders of Steve Christensen and Cathy Sheets and following rare book dealer and forger, Mark Hofmann. Signed by Naifeh and Smith on the half title page. Recently a Netflix series was released on the subject, entitled "Murder Among the Mormons." Near fine book with lightly bumped corners and some minor soiling to page block edge. Jacket has Doubleday Book Shops autographed sticker to front panel, otherwise shows minimal wear.

Columbus: Athletic Association of the Ohio State University, 1929. 11x8.5," single sheet printed recto only with typewritten corrections, signed by Clevenger and St. John. Transmittal folds, few smudges, else near fine. Historic athletics document bearing the signatures of two hall-of-famers.  Lynn St. John (1876-1950) was longtime athletics director at Ohio State, and was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame as a contributor, serving on the NCAA rules committee with Naismith.  Zora G. Clevenger (1881-1970) was a multi sport star, coach, and athletic director at Indiana, Kansas State, and Missouri.  He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1968.  His signature is uncommon.

Glossy illustrated boards with wear at corner and spine ends, else near fine. Commemorative yearbook for the 2011-2012 Baylor Lady Bears basketball team who went 40-0, winning the NCAA Championship.  Stars on the team included Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims.  The Lady Bears were led by Kim Mulkey, the first person to win a national championship as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.  She won three championships during her tenure at Baylor, and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.     .

Blue and white paper boards, spine lettered in red in illustrated jacket. Fine condition. Definitive work on the famous American exhibition basketball team, the Harlem Globetrotters, signed by the second player to have his number retired by the team, Marques Haynes (1926-2015).  Haynes played for the Globetrotters from 1957-1953, and then rejoined the team as a coach in 1972.  He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998.  .

Nearly fine with minimal wear. Biography of the feudal lord of Hikone, Li Naosuke (1815-1860), signor of the Harris Treaty which granted access to trade ports in Japan to American merchants.  .

Interesting little volume of Samurai tales from lecturer, Public Secretary of the Japan National Diet, and member of the Japanese Diplomatic Corps. Prof Yoon Suk Kim has translated and Madisen Bellm has typed and printed the book at The Hero Louis Press in Seattle. Very good hardcover with some soiling to rear panel in black and white printed jacket that shows some wear and rubbing at spine ends, along edges and at corners. The author has signed as "Kogi" on the ffep. An obscure and entertaining book.

Tacoma, 1940. 3 RPPC's, 2 filled out on versos, 1 blank. Generally very good or better with minor corner and edge wear. Three separate views of the historic collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on November 7, 1940.  One view is from the east pier during the corkscrewing at 10:45am and another from a similar time, viewed from below.  The third shows the collapse into the Sound at 11:08am.  Various factors including lack of torsional resistance, flexibility of the structure, "vortex shedding," and high winds contributed to the collapse; "Galloping Gertie" becoming an all-time lesson in physics and bridge construction.

Copiously illustrated record of the USS Mississippi's fifth consecutive victory in the "Iron Man" competition, the Navy Department General Excellence Athletic Trophy.  Includes photos and short descriptions of events from the Seattle and Bremerton Cups to the Whale Boat Crews, baseball, basket ball [sic], track and field, wrestling, boxing, football, tug o' war, and many others.  Apparently unrecorded, as we find no mention of this booklet in OCLC.

Japanese cloth drop spine box with paper chemise housing a signed engraving of the Indigo Bunting used for the cover. Fine condition. Gorgeous edition from the early years of David Pascoe's Nawakum Press, a collection of poems from Minnesota poet, Robert Bly (1926-2021), who became the state's first poet laureate in 2008.  Introduction by Thomas R. Smith, woodcuts by Keith Cranmer, designed and letterpress printed by Norman Clayton, bound by Campbell-Logan bindery in Minneapolis.

The Calithump was published monthly from March to September of 1934, with no issue appearing in August. A blurb from the Marshall [TX] News Messenger, April 8th, 1934, described the publication as "a liberal literary journal... printed in an attic on ten dollars worth of type, but is a very neat piece of work with pleasing typography." Additionally signed by Indiana sports greats Bernie Kampschmidt, Carl B. Bennett, and Hilliard Gates. Publisher's blue and gilt paper boards in illustrated jacket. fine condition. Historic copy of Nelson's excellent book on Fred Zollner and his Pistons of Fort Wayne, which later became the Detroit Pistons.  Zollner was very influential on the game of basketball and was instrumental in the formation of the NBA from the NBL and BAA.  This copy signed by the author as well as former Piston and Indiana sports legend, Bernie Kampschmidt, coach and later GM of the Pistons, Carl Bennett, and trailblazing Indiana sportscaster, Hilliard Gates.
