Gift inscription by the author to Corolyn and George on the front free endpaper, dated "Lob-Lolly-by-the-Sea." Contents: Foreword by Pierre Loving -- The Song of Solomon -- Shivaree -- Miss Myrtle Says "Yes" -- Not in the Lessons. The four short plays feature the women of Red Bud, a fictional town in Iowa. Three of them were first performed at the Arts Club of Chicago and the Cameo Theatre of Chicago. Pierre Loving (1893-1950) was very active in the little theater scene in the 1910s and early 1920s. In the Foreward, Loving discusses the rural population of the United States and O'Dea's use of the small town to stand for "the stark empty lives of American farm women." In Very Good Condition: slightly cocked; edges rubbed; cover is lightly soiled; pages are clean and tight.

Text is in German script reproduced via an early means of reproduction. The leaves of plates are titled: Dessauer Generatorofen, and M. Gladbacher Generatorofen. Final page of text ends: "Dessau, den 23. März 1880. Das Directorium gez. Oechelhauser." This was probably not Wilhelm Oechelhauser (1820-1902), the Shakespeare scholar, but his son by the same name. An early report on the Oechelhauser generator furnace. Very scarce. In Good+ Condition: wrapper is separated, with chipping along edges and fairly illegible writing in black ink; first page lightly soiled, with some notations in margins; minor loss at lower corner of first two leaves; minor chipping at fore-edge of one plate; otherwise, clean and solid.

Augsburg: Johann Jakob Lotter und Sohn, 1813. Very Good +. Violone and organ (bass) part only. [2] leaves: music; 31 cm. Disbound from a miscellaneous volume. Printed on one side only of each leaf; the 2nd leaf (Veni Creator Spiritus) is half a leaf (14 x 22 cm.). Neither the composer nor the printer are given. It was bound with works by Rochus Dedler and Franz Bühler, all printed in Augsburg by Johann Jakob Lotter und Sohn from 1804 to 1824. The composer Joseph Ohnewald (1781-1856) studied in Augsburg, where his 2nd work, Te Deum Laudamus et Veni Creator Spiritus, was printed by Lotter in 1813. This is probably the violone part from that scarce work. In Very Good+ Condition: slightly soiled; faint remains of red seals on the back of 2nd leaf.
