Some fraying at the top of the spine, two ownership signatures, a clean very good copy. Issued as No. VIII in the Orpheus Series. Two tales, of supernatural interest, by composer Clifford Bax writing under the pseudonym of Dermot O'Byrne. Not common.

Contributors listed within are John Imlah, James Greig, William Skea, William Anderson, William Smith, John Ewen, William Cadenhead, William Forsyth. A scarce booklet.

London: Methuen, (1932). First edition, first issue.. Blue cloth, front cover stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt. Ads at the rear dated 932. Ownership names and embossed stamp on front end papers, some old damp marks to covers, not too offensive; in general a bright and very good copy, internally very fresh. 1518 copies of this first printing were produced. Locke: A Spectrum of Fantasy: pg. 205.

Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1893. First American edition. Patterned cloth, white cloth spine lettered in gilt, front cover lettered in red. Shelf wear to tips, some rubbing & soiling of cloth, a very good copy. The British edition appeared the same year in Unwin's "Pseudonym Library" under the name "Ralph Iron".

Buenos Aires: R. Puig, 1892 (1893). Segunda Edicion.. Original pictorial wrappers. Illustrated. Wear and foxing to spine, foxing to edges of covers and pages, old dampstain to fore-edge and margins of last half of the book; spine is partly detached, and somewhat chipped at base of spine, but basically complete. The title page is dated 1892, but the cover is dated 1893, and bears the legend "Segunda Edicion".

London: Printed for R. Carnan and F. Newbery jun., 1770.. 4to. Disbound, traces of old leather on spine. Small signature on title leaf, stitching holes near spine, some small stains to blank verso of last leaf; very good otherwise. Handsome engraving on title page by C. Grignion. First published by Newbery in 1764; this is likely the 7th edition. Half-title leaf not present.

[np/nd Harvard University, 1911?]. . A 4-page booklet measuring 6.25 x 8.5 inches. Twice folded, it has cracked partway across the horizontal fold, some edge wear, otherwise very good. This copy has a holograph correction on page 3, the addition of the word "that" in the final sentence. It is a different setting of type from the copy shown on the Harvard website, which has the missing word included. This appears to be a proof or preliminary copy.

Boston & NY: Houghton, Mifflin, 1930. First American edition. Green cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt. Ownership signature on front end paper, a clean very good copy, quite bright. A novel concerning politics and Freemasonry.

London: Collins, [1930s].. Flexible red pictorial cloth, sewn. 48pp. Light edge wear, clean and very good. Seven stories with some small b&w illustrations in the text. A school book, issued as: Collins' Supplementary Readers. Grade I. Stamped on title page: Specimen. The inner back cover contains printed questions about the story.

Chicago: Thompson & Thomas, (1902).. Original colour pictorial wrappers designed in orange, blue, black, purple and green; spine lettered in black. A bit chipped at the spine ends, paper browned, but an unusually nice copy, tight and clean. Not so common in the paperbound issue. The first edition was published by Neely in 1897.

Riverside: Hillacre Bookhouse, 1912. A small booklet in brown wrappers, sewn, printed label on front cover ruled in red and lettered in black. Title and colophon pages printed in red & black. Light creases in first few leaves, otherwise fine. Limited to 1000 copies. An uncommon edition.

Boston: Thomas Wells, 1810. First edition.. 12mo. 251pp. (erratta on page [252]). Original pale green boards, cloth spine, unlettered. Cloth torn at lower front hinge, some wear to tips, moderate browning of paper, a very good copy. Presentation inscription on verso of front flyleaf from Daniel Manston to Harvey Soule, dated Duxbury 1834. Later bookplate and ownership inscription from the 1950s on front leaves. Some mathematical notes on front end paper. The scarce final work by this notable Boston cartographer and mathematician.

Copenhagen, 1763-81. . 8 Copper-Engraved plates from this massive Danish atlas. Original folds, some marginal tears, several are mounted on larger sheets with spots of glue at upper margins; clean and very good for the most part. Sizes are about 12 x 9 inches; some are trimmed smaller. Titles are: H. Zebaoths Kirke / Fridrichshafns Castell-Kirke / Friderichsberg Slotsgaard (2 copies - one is colored) / Harboes Frue-Closter / Fridrichs Tydske Kirke paa Christianshavn / Arrest-Huset / Vor Frelseres Kirke paa Christianshavn (partly colored).

Bonn: A. Marcus, 1860. First edition. . anticat16. Original green printed wrappers. 4to. 28 pages, frontispiece and two plates at the rear on heavy stock. Some wear to spine, chipping at corners, some foxing, generally clean and very good. The plates depict Roman antiquities. This is the program for an art show held on the birthday of Johann Winckelmann, the celebrated art historian. Otto Jahn was a noted archaeologist, and author of a respected biography of Mozart.
