Excellent in dust jacket which has 1/2 inch corner split and sunning to the backstrip else fine and contained in the original excellent slipcase. Text in English and Chinese, With, loosely inserted, 20 English language leaflets issued by the museum, e.g. "The Development of Broze Weaponry of the Shang and Chou Dynasties", etc. Weight 2.6 kg thus extra postage will be requested.

Contemporary full plum calf, gilt and blind panels to sides with gilt corner ornaments, enclosing ornaments in blind, spine gilt and with black lettering piece, all edges marbled. Rubbing to mthe joints and edges but overall a very sound and attractive little binding. Joints very firm & very clean interanally.

Contemporary full burgundy prize calf, gilt arms of Allhallows School Honiton on upper cover within decorative border, spine floral gilt in compartments with lettering piece, inner gilt dentelles, all edges marbled; very good. Original blue bevelled cloth pictorially blocked in gilt with images of the ram within a rope border. Headbands rubbed, 5-inch split to cloth of outer upper joint otherwise bright and attractive. Contemporary gift inscription on upper margin of title. "With the Author's Compliments" slip tipped-in. Very rare.

"Pray allow me to recommend to your favourable consideration a memorial which you have received from the Town of Sligo, praying that the Winter speed of the Mail between that Town & Dublin may be made equal to its Summer speed, in order that the Sligo People may have a little more time for answering their Letters.........Sligo is a thriving and improving Town, with an increasing commerce .....". Glue marks and some paper adhesion to left hand margin where once mounted. The writer identified in an early hand on upper margin of first leaf.

Contemporary full vellum; binding dust marked and darkened, corners bumped, but sound. Titled in ink in an early hand to spine. Some foxing and browning within, endpapers dust marked but overall good. Being parts 3 and 5 of the five parts issued by Gilles simultaneously and sold either separately or as a collection. What appears to be a brown stain on the left hand margin of the title in the photograph is actually just a shadow.
