Description:
A heavily illustrated biography/bibliography/homage to the art of Hannes Bok, one of the major pulp magazine illustrators of SF and fantasy stories. His work influenced an entire generation of readers and writers: he's in many readers top 3 of pulp artists. Petaja founded the Bokanalia Foundation to keep memory of Bok's work alive. This copy is inscribed to Quinn (Yarbro) "with blessings and all best -- Hyve von! Hanska privat!" Petaja was of Finnish extraction; Yarbro's father was also Finnish, so Petaja inscribed the volume in Finnish. The Finnish translates as "Good luck! Fun days!" according to an attached Post-It note. Corners slightly curling, slight wear to covers; pages white, comb in fine condition. A nice copy of this important work on a pulp artist, heavily illustrated, with good associations.

Description:
London: Macmillan, 1977. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/fine. A very nice copy of the first Brother Cadfael novel. In this book Edith Pargeter combined her excellent historical novel abilities with her nom-de-plume Ellis Peters' well-constructed mysteries and started the boom in historical mysteries that continues to this day. There are many earlier examples of the form, but this is where it takes off and becomes a major publishing category. Historically important, well written, and a scarce book to find in nice condition. This copy has a previous owner's minuscule inscription on the front free endpaper (signature and date of 10 Dec 77, and the cryptic notation "F.E." indicating it was purchased through British bookseller Francis Edwards Ltd.), and very slight bumping to the spine, both head and tail, creasing the jacket slightly. The jacket is unclipped, and the book was not read more than once or twice. A nice copy of a cornerstone volume. Any photo attached to my listings are of the actual…

Description:
Second printing of the only edition of this title -- not likely to ever be reprinted thus. A collection of speeches, forewords, essays and miscellania by the beloved author of the Diskworld books, among others. Printed to celebrate Terry's appearance at a convention, containing small amounts of material which is not otherwise available. Three printings happened in rapid succession; the first included a limited signed state. All three are hard to come by. This is a clean, unclipped copy in a very bright and sharp dustjacket. For serious Pratchett completists, this is a major item. More details available on request.

Description:
The scarce hardback issue of this volume of political humor that might have been the handbook for our current elections. A very clean copy, minimal spine bumping and DW fraying, internal paper somewhat browned and some glue-browning on the rear endpapers (as is common in Ballantine hardbacks of this period). A copy in cillectible condition of one of the scarcer hardbacks from this publisher (one other copy listed online when I posted this). Maybe we can draw a few out of the woodwork. A handbook for the development of a party based on greed, by the creator of Droodles. At the time, it was satire.
