No inscriptions but a neat printed former owner's bookplate to the front paste-down. Original green ribbon page divider attached. A couple of very faint soil marks to the front board. Nevertheless a well preserved if not very well preserved copy.

N/a. xviii, 471pp. Copper engraved title page (frontispiece) curiously dated 1669 and which states printed for B.T. and T.S.. Title page1674. Printed for Tho. Sawbridge, at the Three Flower de Luces in Little Britain, 1674. At least 6 engraved plates illustrate the text. This copy rebound in the early nineteenth century. The upper text block has been shaved with some loss of image and border line to the frontispiece and to the upper margins with occasional part loss of some headlines and the very very occasional page number. No loss to the tails or the sides. Small (book binder's ?) label - Comte De Caumont, 39 Gerrard Street, Soho. Bound with later blank endpapers and marbled endpapers. London: G.D. For Richard Marriot, 1652. Reprint. Half Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. N/a. xxx, 178pp. 1652 early edition. 16mo. sized. Printed by G. D. for Richard Marriot, and are to be sold by William Sheares, at the sign of the Bible in St. Paul's Churchyard, 1652. Re-bound - probably in the mid-nineteenth century - with new endpapers - nothing original before the title page. Several woodcut heads and tail pieces. Some general toning and spotting to the pages with some dust and finger soiling throughout but never particularly heavy. Re-bound in around about the middle of the nineteenth century with a gilt embossed burgundy title block to the spine and 5 gilt embossed decorative vignettes. Green marbled boards - with matching endpapers. The leather now fed with a preservative dressing. Over all a very good copy of a scarce early edition.

Gilt embossed lettering to the spine. A light bump to one corner and slight bumps to two other corners, hidden under the wrapper with slight assoicated creasing to the wrapper corner which is lightly bumped. . Light fading to the cloth at the tail of the spine. Light rubbing to the very edge of the rear end paper. Pictorial dust wrapper not price clipped. Light shelf wear to the edges of the wrapper with light creasing to the upper edge of the wrapper. The book is clean and tight. A very good copy.

The text supported by numerous colour and black and white photographs. Much period detail. Several loose pages but generally in super condition inside. Chipping to cloth top and bottom of spine with 1.5cm tear to bottom of spine. 2 other small tears to cloth along spine - the largest being almost 2cms in length. A very good copy of a scarce book full of fascinating period detail of French hotels in the late 40's and early 50's.

Volume two, eleventh impression (fifth edition), 1960. vg+/vg+. Volume three, Sixth edition 1961. vg/vg - light stain to one corner to the reverse of the wrapper. Very neat ink typed name to the head of the front endpaper. A bump to the head of the spine with light associated creasing to the wrapper. Volume four, 1965 reprint sixth edition. vg/gd. - a light bump to the tail of the spine - some rubbing with the remains of a white paper label to the rear panel of the wrapper. A very good, clean, tight four volume set.

Light sunning to the very edges of the head and tail of the spine and one corner slightly bumped. A pencil inscription with sketch of a seated girl to the front end paper. Clean and tight. Dust wrapper not price clipped with a pencil cross through the price. Light sunning to the spine fo the wrapper. The front of the wrapper has previously been split away from the spine of the wrapper, though is now repaired with acid free archival tape to the reverse of the wrapper. A couple of other short tears from the head of the wrapper, no more than 1.5 cm in length, also likewise repaired. The pictures to the front and rear of the wrapper remian fresh and clean. A very good copy.

A Near fine copy in lovely fresh, tight, clean condition in very good jacket. No inscriptions. Original publisher's light green cloth - stamped in brown to the spine. A light bump to the head of the spine and a light bump to the lower front board corner. The text supported by numerous photographic reproductions in colour of wonderful Argentinian haciendas - interior and exterior images. The jacket has not been price-clipped and has slight or light edge wear at the head and tail of the spine and to several corners. A lovely, fresh, clean, tight well preserved copy in very good jacket. Text in Spanish.
