Description:
Leipzig: Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1903. Book. Very Good. 3/4 Leather. Later Reprint. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. As customary, this is a rebinding of the Tauchnitz reprint, this time in 3/4 brown morocco, with brown boards and raised bands on the spine. Fresh gilt title. Slight wear at the corners and the spine is not faded. Very clean and tight inside, with no prior owner marks. This might have been a library book, as there is a slight scar at the back inside board, where something has been removed. No other marks inside or out. No foxing and no browning to the paper. No evidence of the publication year after 1903, but probably 1910s or 1920s. Quiller-Couch was a prolific novelist, knighted in 1910, also known for his Oxford Book of English Verse, 1250-1900..
