American photographer Marjorie Content (1895-1984) was close to Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as other artists and writers of the 1920s and '30s. Interest has grown in her photography, which was not exhibited during her life and rarely published. This volume includes 72 of her photographs from the late 1920s to the early 1940s. Includes a chronology and notes to the plates. Book is in Fine Condition: clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Near Fine Condition: slightly rubbed; clean and bright.

No dust jacket, but the flaps from the dust jacket have been attached to the fixed endpapers. This was the first Ellery Queen mystery to take place in Hollywood. In Good Condition: cover is lightly soiled; light stain on upper spine and part of back cover; ends of spine fraying; scattered soiling throughout.

Alexandria [Va.]: S. Snowden & J.D. Simms, 1813. Very Good +. 36 p.; 22 cm. Stitched. The author, Josiah Quincy (1772-1864), was a U.S. congressman from 1805 to 1813; he also served as mayor of Boston from 1823 to 1828 and as president of Harvard University from 1829 to 1845. In this speech he opposed a bill that would have added 20,000 men to the existing American military of 35,000 during the War of 1812. He declared: "Whoever believes this bill, to be a means of peace, or any thing else, than an instrument of vigorous and long-protracted war is grievously deceived." Early Am. Imprints, 29614; Sabin 67250. In Very Good+ Condition: first and last leaves slightly soiled and edges very slightly chipped; otherwise clean and tight.
