New York: Peter H. Wyden, 1974. Near Fine/very good +. [x], 236 p.; 21 cm. White cloth with black spine title. Dust jacket. A significant look at "grade school, high school and college coaches -- men for whom winning is too often the only thing, no matter what the ball does to the boy" [from the dust jacket]. Sports at these various levels are run by "dictator coaches and the benefits cost a terrible price" for those young men who play. "This is not an antisports book or an unrelieved catalogue of honors. It offers suggestions for reforms and includes a guide for parents to help them deal with coaches of their sons and of their daughters, too" [from the dust jacket]. A must read for anyone interested in youth sports. The book is in Near Fine condition: light crease to lower corner of first 12 leaves, not affecting text; pages are clean and tight.
