Description:
First Edition, London: 1859. Frontis. 290 pp., with a catalog of books bound in at the end dated June 20th, 1859. Signed to the title page by H. G. Earnshaw, with his bookplate affixed to the inner front board. An intriguing copy, annotated extensively in pencil by Earnshaw, a contemporary reader who appears to have taken a serious interest in Shelley's life and work; notably, many of these annotations seem to challenge Shelley's beliefs. Original publisher's boards now protected in mylar. Unique item.
