Richard Valentine Williams (1877-1946), Irish poet, playwright and small-press publisher who wrote under the pseudonym of Richard Rowley, was friendly with many contemporary English writers. Starforth (1822-1898), English-born architect and architectural author, was apprenticed to a Scottish architect as a youth and remained there for the rest of his life.
