U.S. Government Printing Office. Poster. Offset lithograph. 28" x 22".<br/> <br/> This original World War II-era poster shows a female worker holding folded $25 war bonds and an envelope. Written above her head is the slogan "This is my fight too!" The woman wears a slogan button that resonates with the slogan sign hanging above the paymaster window behind her, and the text along the bottom encourages the purchase of war bonds. Even though she is wearing her work uniform and covered in oil or some other work-related residue, her coiffed hair and colored lips ensure that she appears every bit a woman. In this way, the poster demonstrates how women could contribute to the war effort without sacrificing their femininity, a somewhat mixed signal that speaks to cultural dynamics in the United States in the 1940s. The poster is in excellent condition and is a fascinating document of the domestic front of World War II.<br/> <br/>

Sterling Price's movements during the Mexican-American War on 18th April,1847 along the road from Santa Fe to Canada, near the Rio Chicito (Little Colorado River or Flax River). The movements of the army are clearly marked with topography beautifully depicted and enemy positions marked. It is in vey good condition with no chips with minor wear along the folds. The map appeared in Emory's "Notes of a Military Reconnoissance," first published as a Senate Executive Document in the aftermath of the Mexican-American War.<br><br> William Hemsley Emory (1811-1887) was a United States Army officer and surveyor of Texas. Measures 27 3/4" x 21 7/8"<br/> <br/> This World War II poster was issued in 1942 by the Office of War Information, following the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. A tattered, torn U.S. flag flies at half-staff as dark smoke billows in the background. The quote "we here highly resolve..." is from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. In excellent condition. Folds as issued.<br> <Br> Allen Russell Saalburg (1899-1987) was an American artist. The son of cartoonist Charles W. Saalburg, he studied at the Art Students League of New York. In the 1930s he directed the mural division of the WPA, producing and overseeing various murals thoughout New York. In 1942, he was awarded a Patriotic Service Cross by the U.S. Flag Association for his painting Flag Over Mt. Vernon.<br/> <br/>
