Description:
First UK edition 1st printing, Near Fine book with mild rubbing on boards, in a Fine minus jacket slight edge wear and a 1/4 inch closed tear bottom of front panel near flap fold, several slight overwrite impressions.. This is an unusual variant that has brown boards with a yellow top-stain on page edges – as opposed to the typical Collins Crime Club red boards. The spine has a “C” imprint near the bottom rather than the usual Crime Club logo. The jacket is identical to the trade version but lacks the glossy, mylar coating. This is perhaps a trial binding or a readers or reviewer advance copy. This is the third Joshua Croft mystery. The trail for a missing mother and daughter winds from Central America (and the Sandanista movement), to Hollywood, to the remote mountains of New Mexico. While copies of the St. Martin’s edition are easily available, the UK edition is quite scarce. This copy has been signed by Walter on the title page.

Description:
First edition 1st printing, Good to Very Good book that is ex lib copy with only library markings being small stampings top right of the first front end page, slight slant, bit of edge wear and soiling and some yellowing of page edges; there are two ball point corrections changing lay to laid in the last chapter. In a Fine minus dust jacket that has very slight fading on spine where author's name is faded to white from a very light and subtle tan; this is a common flaw but is rarely noticed. Overall, the book is very nice for an ex lib copy and there have been no paste downs of any kind, no card pockets or any of the other more typical library damage. Signed by Satterthwait on the title page

Description:
Limited first edition; this is one of the Author's copies (of which there were 24 copies). These were similar to the lettered limited editions of which there were 26 copies bound in light burgundy boards with no jacket, as issued, and housed in a Buffalo Medicine slipcase, similarly bound with embossed buffalo skull. Book is Near Fine with two, small, slight rubs along the front edges of boards near the middle, and with a push to top of spine; in a Fine minus slipcase with slight shelf wear. This book is combined nonfiction and fiction with interviews, reprints of two Sattertwait short stories from Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and a previously unpublished short story. Signed by Satterthwait and Bulow on the limitation page. A photo of Satterthwait is laid-in and there is also a frontis page with his photo; both photos are signed by photographer Gaye Brown.
