Description:
TALBOTT, Hudson. Excalibur. Tales of King Arthur. NY: Books of Wonder [1996]. 8vo, [40]pp. Maroon quarter-cloth stamped in bronze with slate boards decoratively stamped in bronze. Color pictorial endpapers; color illustrations on nearly every page. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Signed by the author/artist, Hudson Talbott.
First edition. The third book in Hudson Talbott's Tales of King Arthur, retelling Arthur's early adventures in establishing himself as king and how he came to earn the magical sword Excalibur. The author/artist was apparently upset with this first printing which was not laid out as he had intended and so this copy bears a handwritten statement by him to that effect! It's so fun when author's lament the errors in their own work!
