Inscribed to a personal friend and signed by the author on the second end page: 'For Thomas Edwards Boerstler - Dayton O - My boyhood friend and self made manly man with superb qualities of mind and heart. Frank Tallmadge, April 1925". A small price was once penciled on the upper corner as well. A second owner's name was penciled the on the page opposite the title page, but this has been partially erased. Pages are toned and there are some scattered smudge marks, but only a few.

Pages are toned but clean, no binding issues on text pages. Pages 86/87 show dark spots that was caused by a sheet of paper that was placed inside.
