Image measures 7 x 5.5 inches. Initialed at bottom "G.B" and the title of the illustration is written in pencil. Double mounted in green and cream board. The image shows a little girl in her bed with an old man at the foot of the bed talking to her. Very good condition.:

Finely bound in attractive recent full speckled tan calf. Spine with raised bands. The compartments ruled and lettered in gilt. Single blind ruled border on boards. gilt. A very good copy of this famous work.

Engraved frontis, Title page, 160pp. A very good copy in a fine early leather binding of full red straight grained morocco. Spine ruled, lettered and fully decorated in gilt. Both boards with a double blind ruled diamond around a gilt tooled centre design. Double ruled and elaborate decorative roll borders, gilt. Board edges and turn-ins with decorative gilt roll. Dark green endpapers. All edges gilt. A previous owner ex-libris has been removed from the front pastedown endpaper leaving a mark, and some minor bumping and rubbing to the extremities but overall a very good copy of the book in a highly attractive early 19th century binding. A very popular work, originally published in 1814, which was reprinted 14 times by 1830..

(7.9 X 5.2 inches). 12pp. One of 26 copies, lettered and signed by Ted Hughes, from a total edition of just 100 copies (the other 74 numbered but unsigned). A small crease to the bottom corner of the the printed white wraps otherwise this is a fine copy. The first separately printed poem from the Crow series. Sagar & Tabor: A20.

Eliot" & Ted Hughes writing about Plath and her writing process for the poems in ARIEL. "...while she was almost fully occupied with children and house-keeping, she underwent a poetic development that has hardly any equal on record, for suddeness and completeness". Single A4 leaf printed both sides. Crease through the middle where it has been folded. Edges a little rubbed. Overall in very good condition. The front side contains a box advert for ARIEL, listing it as the Poetry Book Society Spring choice, Published by Faber at 12s.6d. "Ariel is not easy poetry to criticise. It is not much like any other poetry. It is her.". A scarce item which pre-dates the publication of ARIEL which was issued on 11th March 1965. Sagar and Tabor: C168.

Half title, Title page, 415pp. One of 500 copies printed, using the fine Baskerville Greek type. A clean and crisp copy in a very good contemporary leather binding of full diced dark brown calf boards, with floral gilt roll borders. Professionally re-spined at a later date with a matching coloured Morocco spine, ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Board edges ruled in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Gilt inner dentelles. All edges marbled. A small patch of rubbing to the front free endpaper and some rubbing and bumping to the edges but overall a very good copy of this beautifully printed book in an attractive 18th century binding.

Fine publishers leather bindings of full brown morocco, by Cedric Chivers of bath, with Line and box design to both boards and spines. Gilt lettering to spines. Top edges gilt. Lovely decorative set.

Printed for Royal St. George's by Pain & Sons, Sandwich and Deal, Kent. England. 1927. 4pp score chart showing the names of he players in the 1st heat, played on April 15th, 1927, plus those players with a bye to the second heat, played on the same day. The spaces to write in the competitors that moved through the heat stages have not been filled in. The whole opened sheet measures 16.6 x 13.2 inches and folds down to a slim 3.3 x 8.3 inches to allow for fitting into a pocket. Creases on the folds, as expected, but overall in very good condition.

Full green calf. The spine with raised bands. Compartments with blind ruling and lettered in gilt. Twin gilt ruled borders on inner boards, around plain white endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine is faded to brown but overall this is still a very presentable copy.

A couple of very minor rubs to the extremities of a couple of dustwrappers but overall a very near fine, bright and clean set of this first publication of Tolkien's entire History of Middle Earth, in which tales, songs, poems, maps, illustrations, genealogical tables, and even linguistic primers for Tolkien's languages, give the fullest picture available of one of the most thoroughly imagined worlds ever created in the history of fantasy literature.
