Hollywood: Paramount, 1922. Original Photographs . Paper. Two original 8" x 10" stills of Rudolph Valentino. The first photograph is a nice close-up portrait of him. There are a few tiny light spots on the print due to the processing. Chipping to the right side of the white margin and a couple of old tape mends on the verso. The second still is a rare candid of him filling a pipe with tobacco. Small chipping to the left bottom corner of the white margin and old tape mends to the verso. Still popular 82 years after his premature death in 1926 at the age of 31. Sold as a collection only.

New York: Random House, 1951. First Printing . Cloth with Dustjacket. Very Good. Based on Christopher Isherwood's Berlin Stories, the play starred Julie Harris who won a Tony Award for her performance and later repeated her role for the movie version in 1955. The play ran for 241 performances and the Isherwood stories was later the basis for the Broadway and film musical Cabaret. Illustrated with 3 photos including a double pg. photo of the Boris Aronson set and one pasted down on the cloth. This is a lovely copy with some light toning to the front pastedown and endsheets due it seems to a newspaper clipping. The dustjacket has some darkening and light chipping to the top and bottom of the spine panel and to the tips. Fine/near fine.

Some fool has underlined some sentences in the last essay. There is also a small mend to the bottom edge of the back cover and a small corner crease also to the back cover along with faint soft minute corner crease to the 1st 3 pgs. of the book. Vg.

Van Itallie's most famous play is comprised of three playlets that take on American morals and life in the mid sixties. The play was a big Off Broadway hit that won several awards. 8pgs. of photos. There is tanning to the front endsheet along with some chipping to the top of the dustjacket which have been neatly repaired.. Vg/vg.

Strange story by Van Loon who has also done the remarkable vividly colored full page illustrations that would be right at home in a Chelsea art gallery. Lacking the rare dustjacket, but the book with the exception of a tiny dent to the front edge of the cloth and light tanning to the nice endsheets is fine and did I say that the illustrations are magnificent.
