Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1976. Early printing. Hardcover. SIGNED. 301pp. Large octavo [24 cm] Dark red cloth covered boards with a silver stamped title on the spine. Very good. The foot of the spine is slightly jammed and frayed. The edges of the text block are very subtly soiled and stained. There is a former owner's name with a previous owner's name and brief notation on the front pastedown. The dust jacket is in very good condition. Gently soiled. There is a bit of staining to the spine, and there are a couple of small losses from the paper at the foot of the spine. The larger loss measures 1/2 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep. There is also a tiny closed tear in the paper near the foot of the spine. Inscribed by the author on the front free endsheet. This book was nominated for the National Book Award in 1977.
