H. May, M. D. The small flyer was printed by the book's new York City publisher, W. J. Pell in 1898 when the book first came out in order to drum up interest in the book. The back of the flyer has a wonderful black and white engraving of the the oldest Methodist Methodist Episcopal Church in America which was located a block up the street from the publisher's offices. The book being advertised sold for one dollar, and contained a history and description of epilepsy and the fits someone with the disease might have. A 32 page pamphlet called 'Epilepsy Explained' was also sent free upon request. In regards to the book itself, there is little to no information on it, and no OCLC record of it. Description:
n.pl: Joe Weider, 1959. Very good to near-fine.. A booklet published by Joseph Weider, celebrity bodybuilder and self-styled "Trainer of the Stars", giving young men dating advice. Very much in the same vein as VH1's "Pickup Artist" reality television series, the booklet offers impressionable teen boys advice for how to "get" the girl of their dreams by changing their physical appearance and personality. Ironically, the best advice in the booklet doesn't come from Weider at all, but from a woman (he quotes Marlene Dietrich on p.4). Includes a checklist for the reader to complete in the rear ("Are your manners generally good?" etc.) before shamelessly advertising Weider's endorsed products. Single volume (11" by 8.5"), pp. [2], 2-8, [3], stapled in original illustrated self-wrappers. Joseph Weider (1919-2013) was a Canadian bodybuilder and creator of the "Olympia" bodybuilding contests. He was one of the first celebrity bodybuilding influencers.

A sex education manual for young men who "want to be a strong, virile, masterful and muscular he-man" (direct quote) penned by Joe Weider, Canadian bodybuilder and self-styled "Trainer of the Stars". Offers frank advice to boys and young men under the following headings: The Sex Drive; Puberty; The Male Sex Organs; Personal Cleanliness; Beware of Venereal Disease; Gonorrhea; Syphilis; Nocturnal Emissions; Masturbation; and Impotence and Sterility. Interesting to see which myths have (or haven't) been debunked since the publication of this booklet. Single volume (11" by 8.5"), pp. [2], 2-11, stapled in original illustrated self-wrappers, three-hole punched. There's nothing more disgusting than a chain-smoking woman" states this sex education manual published by the celebrity bodybuilder Joe Weider. The booklet addresses impressionable boys and young men reading the booklet seeking advice from an older masculine authority on sex and marriage. Advises the reader not to marry a woman likely to become a nagging wife, or who doesn't enjoy sports. Instructs the reader to be a "good provider" and "gallant" and to avoid a "badly-controlled sex life". Advertises Weider's "Hi-Protein" muscle building supplement on the lower wrapper.
