Text-block remains remarkably bright and clean with tight, sound binding; a very handsome presentation; very good+. An ill-advised and decidedly sexist exercise wherein the author examines female beauty through an "analysis" of their physical and physiognomic attributes. Walker enjoyed a wide and popular audience during his time and whose work was readily accepted as empirically and philosophically sound. Bound in full new light brown 3/4 leather over marbled paper boards, new endpapers; gilt rules and lettering to spine. Many black and white illustrations which seek to demonstrate the theories being put forth. Slightest indication of chipping to the corners of the boards, however, remains a very attractive and presentable copy. Overall, very good+ to near fine. Very controversial, scarce.

George F. Walker was born in Toronto in 1947. At the age of twenty-three he responded to the new Factory Theatre Lab's call for scripts by writing PRINCE OF NAPLES and since that time he has been closely associated with the theatre. Factory produced all his early plays including BEYOND MOZAMBIQUE and RAMONA AND THE WHITE SLAVES. Toronto Free Theatre premiered GOSSIP and ZASTROZZI in 1977, and FILTHY RICH in 1979. During 1978, GOSSIP opened in five cities int he United States including San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. Walker lives in Toronto with his actress wife.
