Description:
New York: Harper Collins, 1991. 1st. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. New York: Harper Collins, 1991. 1st. Fine/Fine. Essentially in straight-from-the-store condition. There is a small black & gold "Oxford Book Store" sticker over the price on the dj flap, but flap is unclipped. Oxford Books is located in an area generally referred to as northeast Atlanta, just about 5 miles from Emory University. Current location of the book is just south of Atlanta, so it has always been somewhat close to Celestine Sibley's home, once shipped from the publisher. The book is FLATSIGNED by the author on the…

Very Good/good +. Fred Birchmore's account of his 1935-1936 trip around the world on a bicycle, with reproductions of many photos he brought back with him from remote parts of the world. Birchmore tells of the people, architecture, governments, religions, culture, and foods all around the earth in a compelling, well-written record of his remarkable journey. This is a SIGNED copy of the book, with an inscription, on the page facing the title page. There was also a copy of a typewritten sheet found in the book, which gives an extensive amount of biographical information about the author -- his careers, his later travels. The book is in very good condition with very, very slight wear to the boards and one small spot on the outside fore edge of the pages. The jacket has some small chips and closed tears, and some…
