Page measures 21.5" x 14.25".<br/> <br/> This botanical print comes from Moore's series of ferns, which is regarded as one of the best examples of Victorian era nature-printing. Wildly popular at the time of its production, the image owes its exquisite delicacy to a nature-printing method called electrolysis, in which the actual plant was pressed into lead to make an imprint which was then transferred to a copper plate. This process allowed the most minute details and venations of leaves to be recorded, as this lovely image demonstrates. Featured here are wall-rue and spleenwort. This print is in good condition, with stains on the right and bottom edges and minor scattered foxing. Excellent condition except a small tear to rear cover.<br/><br/> This German travel guide, published circa 1910, describes tourist attractions in the city of London. A number of images of noteworthy sites are scattered throughout. The back of the guide contains two maps. One is a street map by G.W. Bacon & Co., centered around Regents Park. The other is a map of the London Underground Railways. This particular map marks a transition point in the design of London tube maps: the lines are brightly colored, but the underlying street plan remains as a faded background. In later maps, the streets were removed to allow the tbe lines to stand out. Points of interest are marked with yellow circles.
