In hand papermaking, we make paper from cotton, linen, or silk clothing - rags - as well as plant fibers and other sources of cellulose. Steven Point, Wisconsin:: Arcadian Press,, 2014.. Edition of 35. 5.25 x 6"; 32 pages. Letterpress printed with Michael Bixler's Cochin Light, Bodoni, and one wood letter. Handmade Root River Mill flax by Brian Borchardt, Jeff Morin, Lisa Beth Robinson, and Caren Heft. Paper-covered boards with jagged top edges. Copper breast made by blacksmiths Mindy and Mark Gardner attached to front board. Numbered. Lisa Beth Robinson relates the ordeal of her mother's breast cancer, which occurred in 1973 when Lisa Beth was five and her brother, Draco, was three-and-a-half: "a hard dose of radiation combined with a mastectomy and the removal of local lymph nodes" was the "cure" then. Watching her mother ("until I was a teenager I never saw a woman with two breasts") has had strong influence on Robinson's sense of her own body.

Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland:: Coracle Press,, 2018.. Unstated. 4.5 x 6.5"; 84 pages. Printed digitally. In pictorial wraps. Coracle Press: "This is the second book from Coracle of William Minor's poems, after 'tree on the outside' from 2010. Here, by conjecture and statement surrounding the artist's life and work, he presents an interior with the detail and form of a still-life. An intermediate book, P***y and Pigeon came from Shearsman Press in 2014." Coracle Press, jacket blurb: "In The Balthus Poems, fragment and detail again achieve a form of still-life, in this case surrounding the life and work of its protagonist. These poems move with their own innate syntax, detailing the enigma of the single phrase in its own space, and cohere through a particularly laconic sensibility." William Minor is an American poet residing in Los Angeles.

Portland, Maine:: Rebecca Goodale,, 2003.. Edition of 10. 5.5 x 11" with hand colored silkscreen prints. Two section binding with French folds and Japanese lace paper. Linda J. Docherty, exhibition catalog, 2004: "Goodale also uses words to place threatened and endangered species in relationship to other living things. In Beach Plum ... she describes a community of species that share a protected natural area, Beach Plum Farm, along the coast of Maine. Complementary colors - red and green, yellow and purple - visually reinforce this verbal image of a diverse yet balanced natural harmony. The final line alludes to the recurring cycle of the seasons and also to the imminence of change. When the 'old women who still make jelly' no longer come to harvest the beach plums, another tradition uniting humans and nature will be gone.
