London: Keagan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., 1893. Octavo, 83pp., bound in olive green cloth with ornate gilt designs on both the upper cover and spine, top edge gilt. Illustrated with black and whitle line drawings by Hugh Thomson, this is a near fine copy of the second edition in this format..the first edition having been published in 1892.

(London): Chatto and Windus, 1908. An octavo, 178 pages, plus glossary. bound in original green cloth with gilt titles on spine and front cover as well as a charming gilt cupid with his quiver of arrows. Top edge gilt. Aside from some browning to the front endleaves and a small previous owner's name on the front pastedown, this is a fine copy. Frontispiece and nine full-page illustrations in color by Byam Shaw, capturing the artist's ever-present sense of high romance.

The Leonard Press, New York, 1922A 12mo in the original ribbed paper covered boards with green titling and decoration. The book is fine with no wear save a slight bump to a lower corner. The dust wrapper is also fine, clean and bright with no wear or chips. Introduction by Scott Nearing

Chicago: Walbrunn, Kling & Co., (1922). First edition Oblong 4to., bound in original tan cloth withexceptional Arts and Crafts cover design executed in primary green, yellow and red. A stunning copy of this rare design book, containing 64 full page plates and 110 pages of text. Heberling was the head of the graphic arts department at the Mooseheart Vocational Training School. The book is considered one of the best books of the period for preparing students interested in the graphic arts of posters, signs and other forms of advertising. Scarce in any condition and virtually impossible to locate in the state of remarkable preservation of this copy of the First Edition.

A fine copy of a rare trade catalogue issued by the Trenton Potteries Company. Decorative wrappers bound in dos-a-dos style tied with two silk twists, one olive green, one ochre. "Bathrooms of Character" has 40 pages, beautifully illustrated with plans for creating a stylish bathroom. The cover design features a background in olive green squares outlined in white, suggesting tiles with title letters in a raised white Arts and Crafts font. Embellishments of "tiles" with soft ochre stylized irises and foliage complete the handsome composition. The pamplet's counterpart, "Porcelain Fixtures For Kitchen and Laundry" has 31 pages, also nicely illustrated. Its cover design is identical to that of the bathroom pamphlet, reversing the use of colors, with ochre squares outlined in white and the iris designs executed in olive green. Eighteen exquisite full-color tipped-in plates, including frontispiece, by this masterful American illustrator. A marvelous copy of an elegant book.

New York and London: Macmillan, 1907. An octavo, 242 pages, plus ads. First Edition, bound in original pictorial cloth. Adise from some offsetting from a small newspaper portrait of London tipped-on to the verso of the frontispiece and some browning to the free endpapers, this is a fine bright copy. Nicely illustrated by Charles Livingston Bull.

This poster, an affectionate tribute to book collecting, measures 23 x 17 1/2 and is nicely printed in red and black on quality cream colored stock. In the center of the poster is a facsimile of the title page of the scarce first edition of Thomas Frognall Dibden's classic work on book collecting entitled "THE BIBLIOMANIA; OR BOOK-MADNESS". This was one of the first books on book collecting and bibliomania. Surrounding the title page image are over thirty-five quotes about book collecting, book lovers, readers and book obsessions. This scarce periodical is an hilarious spoof of the Roycrofters and the Philistine. It was originally published in the Chicago Tribune by Bert Leston Taylor and then later done into this book and published for the Boy Grafters by William S. Lord. Bound in the same size, format and appearance as a copy of the Philistine each page is a parody of Elbert Hubbard and the Roycrofters. A near fine copy, about 25 pages printed in red and black. Bird and Son, East Walpole, A spiral bound magazine size trade catalog of rugs, linoleum and other floor coverings. Full vivid colors in patterns that are conventional to Moderne. Full cover interior pictures of rooms and many pages with 2-4 samples per page. A bit of creasing and wear to the front cover but overall a very good copy. of a scarce catalog.

Doubleday, Doran and Co. published for the Crime Club. New York, 1940 Octavo. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. A fine copy in the original yellow cloth with black titling and decoration. The book is clean and bright and untouched except from one small (1/16") bump along lower edge of front cover. The dustwrapper is bright and clean but brittle with edge wear and considerable chipping on spine and edges. Overall a very nice copy. "First Edition" on copyright page.

Goteborg: Ahlen & Akerlund, 1929. This Swedish annual began publication in 1906, continuing for decades. Along with John Bauer, Einar Norelius, created fabulous illustrations, in the style of the Wiener Werkstatte, including artists Joseff Urban and Heinrich Lefler. The inspiration of Kay Nielsen is also very evident. Square 8vo., Bound in tan paper over boards, with a pictorial pastedown on the cover and 12 coloured plates by Norelius tipped on heavy stock. There are several small ink marks on the front cover, near the letters of the title but not affecting the pastedown. Overall toning of the cover and marginal browning. Despite the faults, this is a satisfying copy of a rare and beautiful book from the Golden Era of illustration. Contents fine and bright, with Swedish text. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover.

Little, Brown and Co. Boston, 1934 A near fine copy bound in the original black pebbled cloth with red stamped cover illustration and titling. FIRST EDITION. The binding is clean and unworn, the text is unmarked. The yellow pictorial dustwrapper is lightly soiled with a few very small closed tears and a stain about 2 inches long on the back lower panel at the fold in. On the dust wrapper is an original sticker with a quote from the New York Times Book Review. $2.00 price intact on flap.

Concord N.H.: Rufus Merrill. A sewn 16mo bound in pink wrappers, 16 pages with woodcuts throughout.The back cover has advertisements for "toy and juvenile books" published by Merrill. Title page states this is Part V. Covers torn along spine, soiling but still a charming juvenile booklet.

(Grand Rapids, Mich): (Simplicity Company), 1915. An octavo, 94 pages, bound in limp leather with emobssed decorative cover. A charming book for recording the important milestones in a baby's life. The first part of the book has blank pages for entering records, illustrated in color by Meleena Burns Denny, in the style of Fanny Cory. The latter pages offer instruction to new parents on the care of their new family member. Topping off this exceptional record book is a little pass book inserted into a pocket on the rear pastedown for baby's first bank deposits! A pristine copy of a book that was reprinted many times.

George G. Harrap and Co., London 1932. A thick octavo bound in the original highly decorated green cloth with heavy dust wrapper. The book is fine with no wear and the cover illustration bright and unmarked. Some light penciling on front free end paper but otherwise clean. The dust jacket has a bit of edge wear and darkening of the spine but overall is very good. Profusely illustrated with chapters on art in countries around the world.

London, Edinburgh & Boston: T. N. Foulis, (1914). An octavo of 103 pp. with eight color plates by Alfred Rawlings mounted on heavy stock, and 36 drawings by Warrington Hogg of notable sundials. White paper over boards with marvelous cover illustrations in vivid colors by Jessie M. King. Top edge green. A companion volume to Corners Of Grey Old Gardens, this is considered by many to one of the finest examples of Jessie King's inimitable style. Having become quite scarce of late, particularly in the First Edition, this is a handsome and satisfying copy. There is a modest contemporary signature in the corner of the front pastedown and some very minor soiling and wear. A small bit of old cello tape is at the bottom of the spine ( 1/2" x 1.5"), not particularly detracting. Offsetting from paper on the front free endpaper. Overall, the book requires few apologies, with the boards and gilt exceptionally bright and the contents clean and free from foxing. White 111.

London: Wells, Gardner Darton & Co., (1910). An octavo, 354 pp., plus 10pp. of publisher's ads. Bound in very pale yellow cloth with pictorial covers and spine printed in green and brown. Illustrated by Godon Browne, this is a perfect copy of a delightful book..retaining the pictorial slipcase which repeats the cover illustration on both front and back panels. The slipcase exhibits some wear, particularly at the extremities and along the spine..but is complete and quite rare in any condition. Laid-in is a folded sheet advertising Darton's Fine Art Series of books, as well as other titles with three color illustrations. An exceptional copy of this classic British book.
