Not uncommon, but rare in this condition. Adare Manor pencilled shelf number on endpaper.ESTC t4823 KRESS 2553Fleetwood (1656-1723), a zealous whig and Royal Chaplain, was also an able antiquarian and the first English collector of statistics on prices. This work then "brought together all the information he could find on the values of money and the prices of commodities during the Middle Ages in England; and it is still well worth consulting" [Palgrave]. Palgrave was correct as modern scholarship had arrived at figures very close to Fleetwood's.

D., eldest son of Rev. James Fleming of Kilkenny, Chaplain to the Lord Lieutenant in 1712, was educated at Trinity College Dublin. In 1743 he married Ann Hamilton of Killyleagh, Co. Down, in St. Werburgh's Church, Dublin. His son Hamilton Fleming had an only child, a daughter Harriet, who married William Gyll of Wraysbury House, Buckinghamshire. A PIONEER NEUROLOGIST first edition tall 8vo. viii, 152pp., 34 text figures, contemporary half tan calf prize binding, grained tan cloth on sides, spine panelled by gilt raised bands with gilt tool at the panel centres, later black morocco title label, marbled endpapers, small worm(?) hole on rear joint at top corner of label, else very good. Handsome large gilt oval supralibros of St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, on front board. Ferrier (1843–1928), pioneering Scottish neurologist and psychologist, had through a series of experiments on animals in the 1870 demonstrated in a spectacular manner that specific parts of the brain cortex had quite a precise connection with specific motor functions.
