A lavishly illustrated survey in Dutch of myths and legends from Egypt, Greece, India, Scandinavia, and more. Anton Pieck was one of the best-known Dutch illustrators of the 20th century.

Westlake was also a screenwriter, and his script for the 1990 film The Grifters was nominated for an Academy Award.
