John Lehmann. First UK edition published by John Lehmann in 1949. Translated by Richard Hare. This is a very good copy. The Humphrey Spender dust wrapper is complete and hasn't been price clipped. There is minor wear to the spine ends and corners. There is a smattering of spotting to the text block and to the first and last couple of pages. Overall a very good copy. A collection of short stories by the nobel laureate, mostly of russian life before the revolution. Regarded as Bunin's masterpiece.  A very rare book and particularly so with the wrapper. . G.A. Blunden. First edition pulished by G.A. Blunden in 1930 and one of only 250 copies. This is a near fine copy. The paper covered boards are in clean condition with just the odd mark. The paper label on the spine has browned. The pages are clean in general and the binding is square and firm. Overall a well preserved copy. This one has been signed by the author Edmund Blunden on the front free end paper to prolific true crime author W.N. Roughead. The inscription reads 'W.N. Roughead with E Blunden's regards June 27, 1931'. William Roughead was an early practitioner in the 'true crime' genre and wrote many on the subject including about grave robbers Burke and Hare. He was a Lawyer and would attend trials as research for his works. Blundens factual account of life in the trenches in the great war as a follow on to his classic biography Undertones of War. Van Longhum Slaterus. The first appearance in print of Anne Frank's Diaries, this being fragments of her diary published in De Nieuwe Stem in 1946. This volume, in the publisher's hardback binding is in near fine condition. It is in an oatmeal cloth with blue lettering on the upper board and spine. The pages are very clean and the binding strong and square. There is a circular previous owner's bookplate on the title page. The contents is listed in contributor order and 'Frank, Anne. 'Dagboekfragmenten' (diary excerpts) is listed.  The diary excerpts are 11 pages from page 431 to 442.  Otto Frank typed his daughter's diaries out and then initially gave a draft to people within his close circle to read.
