Giovanni Cinelli Calvoli was born in Florence on February 26, 16251. He studied at the University of Pisa, where one of his teachers was Evangelista Torricelli. After receiving his doctorate in philosophy and medicine, he married and returned to Florence in 1651. He collected small rare opuscules and published them by notebooks, under the title of Biblioteca volante, scanzia 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., in-8°.
