In 1850, he advertised daguerreian stock for sale, and offered instruction. In 1855 he advertised the gallery next to A.J. Barker's, and noted he had eight years practice. He also advertised he had a more complete set of apparatus than anyone in the country, and also worked in stereo. He advertised he won the highest premiums at the Bristol County Agricultural Fair for five successive years. From 1857 to 1859 he was listed at 10 Main Street, Taunton. Ills. & different frontis portraits of Dalhousie "George Ramsay, Ninth Earl of Dalhousie, came to Canada as Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia in 1816. Four years later he became Governor General of Canada. The journals he kept during his four years in Halifax provide us with a unique record of the life of that time: " Dust cover to volume I. Volume 1 deals with his time in Halifax, vol.2 deals with the first four of his eight years in Quebec & Vol.3 his time at the Colonial office in London his return to Canada in 1825
