You have found in my Lieder some resonating accents, and your reading of them reflects poetic sensitivity and a most rare musical and psychological finesse of observation. Description:
Used; Like New/Used; Like New. An LP of th acclaimed ballet score, boldly signed on verso of jacket, "Leonard Bernstein". Columbia Masterworks – M 33082.  Spine and lower seem partially split, impression of LP rubbed to front and small stains, LP untested but in apparently fine condition. Leonard Bernstein and Jerome Robbins first began talking about creating a ballet based on S. Ansky's play, "The Dybbuk", after they had just completed their first collaboration, Fancy Free, in 1944. Though the idea was never abandoned, other projects, including West Side Story, always seemed to intervene. S. Ansky was the pseudonym of Solomon Zainwill Rapaport, author and folklorist (1863-1920) who was born in Chashnik, White Russia 1863. He worked as a blacksmith, bookbinder, factory hand, and teacher, and from 1911 to 1914 he traveled through the villages of several countries as head of the Jewish ethnographic expedition collecting material on folk legends, hasidic tales, and stories about Jewish poverty.… Read More

Used; Like New/Used; Like New. Etching with Drypoint, 1893, posthumous ed. unknown, printed circa 1960s. Kl. 19 Vlb, unsigned, with the A.V.D. Becke Munchen-22 dry stamp lower right, final state, plate 9-15/16 x 5-3/16, image 9-3/8 x 4-7/16, pale hint of lightening within mat opening, printed in a warm black ink on thick cream wove paper. A fine late impression with rich contrasts of this early image by Kollwitz. Otto Nagel, the author of a book on Kollwitz's self portraits, has stated that the artist observed this woman first hand, but in making the print made this a self portrait. A. von der Becke became Kollwitz's print publisher after 1931, and after von der Becke's death in 1958, his wife Johanna and son Bernhard continued the publication of prints from Kollwitz's plates from 1963-1972, with which this impression is consistent. Considered one of Germany's most important early 20th-century artists, Käthe Kollwitz captured the hardships suffered by the working class in drawings, paintings, and… Read More
