Binding age toned, detached from covers but a complete copy. Handwritten brief biographical sketch of John Penn Arndt (1780-1861), tipped in, presumably written by the author's son-in-law P. S. Loy, (husband of Emily Arndt), who inscribed title page. This booklet describes the author's trip "from Mackinaw Island to the mouth of the beauteous Fox seventy years ago". The author was born at Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and removed with his father and family to Mackinac Island in 1822, leaving for Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1824.
