In these conflicts, Gaul (present-day France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland) was conquered by Caesar and his Roman troops, ending in about 50 BC. Caesar's text is presented in Latin with plentiful illustrations and color maps on plates. Editors W. R. Harper and H. C.
